English Meis Island Guide
General Information
Meis Island (also known as Karhisar Island), is the only island in the Mediterranean of Greece. Dodekanesos (On Two Islands) group in the Eastern Mediterranean, the island is located only in the district of Kas of Antalya, 1.1 kilometers**.
On-site excursions can be arranged at the center of Kas and the island can be reached within 20 minutes' walk.
Historical Background
The island was named **"Château-Roux" (Red Castle) because of the red rocks by the Knights of St. Jean.
